Previously unreleased live archive of National Health, Canterbury Music's last super band, now on CD! As Hatfield and the North searched for their next project after disbanding, they made contact with various bands in Canterbury Music, and after a series of sessions, they went on to form a new band. With Hatfield and the North as the mother band, Egg, Gilgamesh, Henry Cow, Gong, Coliseum II, etc., various members joined the sessions, and the band finally found members to record their debut album in late 1977, and an announcement regarding the band An announcement was made. Disc 1 & DISC 2 were recorded for a BBC Radio program, but were broadcast on DISC 3 and DISC 4. Disc 1 & Disc 2 were recorded for a BBC Radio program, but only two songs from Disc 1, ➅(7), were broadcast, and the rest of the recordings were left out.The release of the new discs features the best remastering available at this time, thanks to the discovery of the broadcast sub-masters for each disc. Both discs feature the complete live performance of the day, making this a rare archive of National Health's live show during this period. The songs on the debut album were complete by this point, and the different personalities of the two guitarists and keyboard player really come through in the improvised parts. 40 years later, this live archive is finally getting its moment in the sun, and is a valuable missing piece of Canterbury music.
