Made by artisans in Nha Xa, northern Vietnam, where the tradition of silk dyeing has been practised for over 800 years. In shibori, the silk is bound, twisted, or clamped before dyeing — the binding determines where the dye reaches and where it cannot. When the silk is opened, what has been made can only be understood in that moment. No two are ever the same.
