Each piece is hand-crafted in Nha Xa, a silk-weaving village in northern Vietnam with over 800 years of artisan heritage. The shibori process is one of deliberate restraint: the silk is bound before dyeing, and the bound areas resist the colour, creating the pattern. It is only when the bindings are removed that the full design is seen for the first time.
