Diet & Feeding Guide

The L260 Queen Arabesque Pleco is a beautifully patterned Hypancistrus species, known for its intricate grey-and-black labyrinth-like markings. While similar in care to other carnivorous Hypancistrus, it is slightly less demanding than the L046 but still prefers clean, well-oxygenated water with hiding spots and moderate flow.

Feeding Habits

• Carnivorous Diet:
  Prefers protein-rich foods such as sinking carnivore pellets, bloodworms, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other meaty frozen or live foods.

• Some Variety Accepted:
  May pick at high-quality wafers or blanched vegetables, but plant matter should remain limited.

Feeding Tips

• Feed mostly at night, as they are more active after lights out.

• Keep water quality high—warm temperatures (26–30°C / 79–86°F), low nitrates, and good oxygenation.

• Provide multiple caves or crevices to reduce territorial stress among individuals.
