[SYD BARRETT PAPERSLEEVE COLLECTION(3)] A compilation of rare recordings from 1968 to 1970, including unreleased songs and alternate takes from his two solo albums. It was suddenly released in 1988, 16 years after his sudden disappearance from the scene in 1972. The title track "Opel," "Dolly Rocker," "Word Song," "Swan Lee," "Birdie Hop," "Let's Split," "Lanky (Part 1)," and "Galaxy" were all first released here. Also included are rare tracks and demos such as "Crowns & Jugglers," which was recorded with members of Soft Machine as the original song for "Poem for an Octopus," and "I Won't Miss Me," an early take of "Underworld," which is also included. With the exception of a few songs, he plays his own acoustic guitar, but this makes this a very special documentary work that conveys a raw atmosphere and his pure soul.
