Kelly Lee Owens' first new album in two years is an industrial, Celtic-tinged, mystical work that is conceptualized as music somewhere between Throbbing Gristle and Enya. was faced with the sudden cancellation of her world tour. She used this time to head to Oslo to start making music and had the opportunity to spend time in the studio unencumbered and without major commitments. In subzero temperatures with closed borders, she holed up in the studio with Lasse Marhaug, a leading figure in the avant-noise scene known for his work with Merzbow, Sunn O))) and Jenny Hval, to create music somewhere between Throbbing Gristle and Enya. The result is a work that oscillates between tension and release, combining industrial sounds and Celtic mysticism.(It is actually her eighth album.) She refers to this album, titled "Eighth Album," as "eight means completion, an album that spills over into me personally and infinitely.
