From the mid 1920s through the 1950s, the height of elegance for a fashionable woman was a white fox fur stole like this one. It is a single pelt, and so very soft!
FUR: I believe this is arctic fox fur. It has a thick undercoat and long soft fluffy guard hairs
SIZE:
The pelt measures 46" from tip of nose to tip of tail, and up to 5" wide, not counting the length of the fur.
TAG: No tags
CLOSURES: The fur can be secured in place using the linked celluloid chain attached to a front leg and back leg, each ending with a crochet covered wooden beads with a snap at the end. There is also a crochet covered alligator clip under the fox's chin.
CONDITION: There are some wear areas to the tail - see closeup. Arcic foxes change color with the season. The undercoat on the tail is a light gray, so is a bit more noticeable there. There is also 5-5" of open seaming under both of the front legs - see closeup. It is not visible unless you separate the fur there and look closely, and the underlying hide is not torn. Hide feels supple overall.
