This beautifully hand crafted mug is made in Tamazulapam del Espíritu Santo in the Sierra Mixe region of Oaxaca. Artisan women have been sculpting and firing this beautiful earthenware since pre-colonial times. We have smaller sizes of this barro currently at the shop, but most impressive is the scale they work in to create these kitchen and decorative tools. We are happy to share the characteristic shade of the Mixe technique with you.
