"The Young Ladies Mirror"--aka, get over your superficial vanity and consider your values! Similar in construction to on advent calendar, here each square with hand-written clue flips up to reveal the answer, written on blue paper adhered to the back of the white. "Wash to Smooth Wrinkles" flips up to reveal "Contentment"; The Universal Beautifier: Good Temper; An Elastic Girdle: Patience. On and on. The fourth row of three has lost the flip up clues, but is kind of nice in revealing the structure of the rest of it. 

9 3/4" x 7 5/8". I believe this dates to the 1830s or so, and I would guess British. General soiling and staining, as one would expect, but  better in hand, with the inked cursive writing crisp and clear and completely readable.
