<p><em>The ProMaster 2558 is a straight audio adapter cable that lets you connect a microphone or wireless receiver with a camera, camcorder, or similar device with small 2.5mm TRS jack.</em></p> <p>While it is true that most cameras and camcorders use a 3.5mm TRS audio jack, there are some that use a smaller 2.5mm version instead. Some Fujifilm brand mirrorless cameras as well as some point-n-shoot cameras fall into this category. This can make it difficult to use many common types of microphones with these cameras. The ProMaster 2558 is a great solution to adapt any mic having a common 3.5mm TRS connection to a camera using the smaller 2.5mm connection.</p> <p>One end of this cable is terminated with a right angle connector. The other is a straight 3.5mm female connector to plug your mic's cord into. A small label is also applied near each end of the cable to identify its most common useage. One end is labeled "Microphone" and the other is labeled "Camera/Camcorder".
