Why is there a lamb on the Preston North End crest?
It dates right back to the 7th century and the lamb an emblem of Saint Wilfrith who was the former Archbishop of Kent. Despite the distance between Kent and Preston, the Saint has been a patron of the town for 1000s of years and when the club formed in 1880, the lamb became part of their emblem too.
