I really couldn't love this drawing more, wonderfully naive and awkward but clearly done with a great deal of sincerity and affection for the subject! Against a charcoaled background she emerges rather like a vision, with this giant hat, I guess it is, reading a bit like a halo, and/or a crown! On the reverse we learn that the postcard was sent to a Mrs. Jane Holt from "Aunt Selina", with the card "penciled and drawn by Eddie himself"! Great.

3 1/2" x 5 1/2", early 20th c. There is a surface crease at upper left on front but it is not a true crease--there is no sign of it on reverse. Otherwise very good antique condition.
