Lost Lantern hand-selected this cask from Broad Branch Distillery in the city of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Rooted in the state’s rich distilling tradition, Broad Branch makes spirits that capture the essence and culture of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

This release, our first from Broad Branch, is both our first Southern rye whiskey and our first hazmat rye whisky. It was made from 100% prairie rye and aged for 8 years in a 53-gallon char 4 barrel. The nose is minty and grassy, with notes of clove and butterscotch. The powerful palate has intense spicy oak notes, dark chocolate, and a very full mouthfeel. A powerful and deep rye whiskey, perfect for serious bourbon and rye lovers, from a distillery with a rapidly building reputation for exceptional whiskey.
