I just can't resist these treen apples, each its own thing based on when it was made and the life it has lived, with variations in size and paint too. Many housed games or miniature tea sets--horse roulette is my favorite. And the one time owner of this one appears to have been French, with handwritten notes on the roulette wheel, and on the horse tokens too, declaring each to either represent rouge or noir (red or black)--making it more like a game of casino roulette, and of course for me interventions and adaptations of this sort are what make things extra special.  One horse chip here missing, and the original ball too, but I've found that a marble works just as well.

Apple 3 7/8" t x 3 3/8" d. General wear to the paint as shown and some hairline cracks to the underside, mostly just visible when turned upside down. There is just a hair of wiggle between top and bottom of apple--i.e. the fit is not completely tight, but close.
