Tasting Notes: The nose opens plush and inviting, with a gentle wisp of smoke and warm oak that gives the whiskey a deep, subtle, comforting aroma. As it continues to open, it grows into a plump toasted vanilla note that really draws you in.

The palate is dense and blanketing. A wave of candied licorice sweetness emerges first, followed by bright red fruit notes that bring a lively, slightly tart character but also more depth. As the sip settles, a touch of black pepper spice builds warmth and structure, tying the sweeter elements together.

The flavors carry through a pleasantly spiced finish, adding cookie butter, charred oak, and vanilla Coke concentrate to provide a cushioned landing place for each sip.

About: This style of whiskey is made of 100% malted rye grain, which is quite rare, even in today’s craft distilling scene. Plump, medium-full palate; finely dovetailed elegant spices; saltwater taffy, fruits, clove, and an interesting toasty - malty note. The finish is focused spice with clove and pink peppercorn. At six years old, our New Riff Malted Rye Single Barrel  Without Chill Filtration is the oldest New Riff whiskey yet released, and will remain at six years as something of an exclamation point atop our standard portfolio.
