BAM! The 2026 release of Barrel Aged Malort features a blend of Malort that has been matured for 1-5 years in ex-bourbon casks before bottling at 35% abv. Though perhaps slightly softer and more complex, this is still very much Malort. The nose is dominated by familiar Malort-y notes of grapefruit peel, diesel, and ash with a hint of caramel in the background. On the palate, BAM is more viscous than its unaged sibling and has a fuller mouthfeel. It is still dominated by wormwood bitterness but there are small yet noticeable wisps of vanilla, caramel, and oak behind the bitter wall. The finish is all Malort, and will leave you questioning your decision making while wiping the tears from your eyes.
