When heavy-duty calls, Gyprock HD has you covered. Featuring a high-density core and heavy-duty liner paper providing enhanced impact and acoustic performance, Gyprock HD is the perfect premium upgrade for residential walls and ceilings.
Gyprock HD is manufactured with a high-density core and a heavy-duty liner paper to provide enhanced acoustic properties and resistance to soft and hard body impact.
While Gyprock Plus provides everyday durability, HD is the perfect all round premium 10mm plasterboard that has enhanced resistance to dents, scuffs, and scrapes from things such as furniture and school bags and is up to 75% more impact resistant compared to Gyprock Plus 10mm.
Manufactured with a high-density core, HD also provides a reduction in sound transmission compared to walls lined with standard 10mm plasterboard, creating a more comfortable, quieter environment.
HD is a versatile product that is suitable for both walls and ceilings in residential applications and is formulated to contain 10% recycled content.
Gyprock HD is ideal for use in residential walls and ceilings particularly in those areas subject to high traffic such as corridors, hallways, rumpus and games rooms, mud rooms and children’s bedrooms. When installed in ceilings of multi-storey homes, HD can also reduce noise levels between floors.
Gyprock HD is not suitable where it would be in contact with water or constant relative humidity above 90%.

Gyprock impact resistant plasterboard products are manufactured with a heavier lining paper, and special additives to enhance the durability of their core. When compared to Gyprock Plus 10mm, Gyprock HD provides up to 75% more impact resistance and is the perfect product for areas subject to high traffic.
Hard body impact is assessed by dropping a 50mm steel ball onto the plasterboard surface from increasing heights.
Soft body impact testing sees a weighted bag swung on a pendulum, striking the plasterboard surface.

Gyprock acoustic plasterboard products fall into two categories – those for preventing sound transmission, and those designed to provide sound absorption. Sound transmission products are manufactured with a denser core, providing a physical barrier to prevent sound moving to adjoining spaces. Absorptive plasterboard products feature perforations to help reduce echo and improve acoustics within a room.
While the selection of an acoustic plasterboard lining alone will improve performance, CSR provides a range of wall and ceiling systems which deliver superior results for transmission or absorption, through a combination of plasterboard, insulation, fixing methods, plenums and framing configuration.
