As seen in the Canadian Clock Museum, this unique antique clock was made locally and sold by a peddler in a horse-drawn wagon door to door to households in rural Ontario, Canada. It was an innovation at the time, the first clock widely available to middle-class families due to the brass clockworks sourced in Connecticut.

A family heirloom, this clock has been in one Canadian home for three generations. Fabricated by W.H. Van Tassel in the mid-1800s in Brockville, Ontario. Brass function 8-day clock, rosewood body, gilt columns, hand-painted glass doors. Some wear on the exterior, the right column head needs to be re-glued as well as the clock needs repair.
