The Merlot, she is an extremely special and very rare early 70s India Imports for Rhode Island cotton gauze dream dress. Her skirt is lined in a tissue thin cotton. 

Merlot is an absolute dream dress and truly is a very special Indian cotton beauty indeed. India Imports was the company name of early Adini, which is now one of the most coveted original Indian designers of the time. She is in the most stunning berry burgundy shade and has blockpriting with gold stamped accents. She has a beautiful flattering cut, with a low neckline, button closure front, tiered skirt and slightly flared sleeves. She has beautiful shimmering gold bind trims. This beauty is truly an absolute dream come true and truly a perfect Indian cotton dress for the festive season and beyond.

This girl measures to approx UK size 6/8 small 10.

Merlot has been freshly laundered and is ready to wear. She can safely be washed at home on a 30 degree setting. She is in good vintage condition, she does have a few small signs of wear which is absolutely to be expected with original indian dresses, including a small mark to her back.

This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear.
