exceptional quality natural pearl necklace

pearls are of Japanese origin and are probably from Lake Biwa Pearl Fields

necklace originally dates circa 1870-1920 and comes from the estate of an individual related to the Mikimoto Pearl Field Family, but i do not know if Mikimoto and Lake Biwa fields were related in any manner

this exceptional quality necklace is comprised of 6 total strands of naturally grown 4. 55mm (approximate based on pearls being perfectly matched) pearls in a pale creamy white tone, these strands are intersected and twisted against 6 additional strands of natural AMETHYST STONES, matched in size and shape to the pearls. Both sets of strands are evenly interspersed throughout by 14k yellow gold round spacer accent beads at even intervals.

the necklace measures 19 inches total length and features an impressive "statement" security clasp in 14k yellow gold and accented with approximately 1. 5 - 2. 5 carats total weight of natural cut polished garnets set on a heavy dity 14k yellow gold security clasp

this piece is originally intended to be worn with pearls on one side and amethysts down the other but i like the idea of rotating them sideways and having a 6 strand AMETHYST NECKLACE VISIBLE while girls are tucked under collar, or alternately six strands of pearls to the front, when amethyst talked under the collar it gives you three necklace variations in one piece of jewelry
